Habitable Adaptations

Ed Hamm’s Habitable Adaptations are an outgrowth of his study of Dutch adaptation history, his work in St. Petersburg Florida and his research on the regional implication of sea level rise on the eastern and gulf coast of the United States.  These adaptations range from land use policy and standards to recommendations for the types of water management interventions that will need to be made to protect  communities and coastal environments. He has placed his “Habitable Adaptations” on an adaptation of the urban transect, which when placed at the coast becomes the Rural-Urban-Ocean transect.
